Fourteen years ago I lost my mum. She was 61. I remember everything about that day. I won’t go into too much detail, but what I thought would see her come back from hospital never happened.
On that day my dad took me to the hospital after she had just died and I saw her lying there, on the bed, looking as though she was asleep. After a long illness my mum looked to be at peace at last. My dad and I went to the pub and drank to her memory.
I owe so much to her – my life, my love of books and reading, and I remember that she encouraged me (along with dad) to embrace computing and programming (herself having a go at one point).
My mum was, quite frankly, the coolest mum you could have. Everybody loved her.
I miss you. So, so much.
