According to Cuba Pictures’ Twitter feed, principal photography has now finished on the much (trust me when I say much) anticipated adaptation of Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.

JS&MN is not a Cornish drama, has well-established actors, and I’m therefore pretty sure there will be no mumbling when it airs.
That said, they have 6 months in post-production to polish every aspect of each of the seven episodes including visual effects, so when it hits the TV screens at the very end of this year or very early next, we can be assured of the highest quality presentation.
P.S. – Peter Harness who adapted JS&MN has also written an upcoming Peter Capaldi Doctor Who episode. That man has been very busy indeed.
P.P.S. – Bloomsbury has finally got their fingers out their arse and put up an official Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell Facebook page. After years of a neglected self-hosted web page that fell into decline at www.jonathanstrange.com (now points to their book ordering page rather than the old web pages), they’ve done something – but is it enough?
